Our earlier report on Ferrari planning a return to the Indian market has officially been confirmed. The legendary Italian brand has officially announced two new dealers, Select Cars in Delhi and Navnit Motors in Mumbai, to kick off a fresh innings in India.
Ferrari’s previous shot at the Indian market had disastrous consequences. The Shreyans Group, the brand’s sole Indian distributor, earned a reputation for cheating customers, turning their dream car into a nightmare. Several customers whose deposits for new orders were gobbled up by Shreyans took the dealer principal (who is currently absconding) to court. Ferrari now hopes to make amends with an all-new dealer network. The good thing for Ferrari is that customers, even those who were left stranded, are willing to forgive and forget, and are lining up excitedly to place fresh orders. Such is the power of the brand.
Ferrari plans to offer its entire range in India, except for hypercars like the LaFerrari, which incidentally was showcased at the recent Parx Supercar Show. The California and 458 will form the bulk of sales in India.
Ferrari has plans to introduce more dealerships in India over the next couple of years in other metros, depending on the growth and demand in the Indian market. Ferrari owners can start dreaming again.
