Ford has launched the Aspire CNG in two trim levels – Ambiente and Trend Plus – priced from Rs 6.27 lakh to Rs 7.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Only available with the 1.2-litre petrol engine, which makes 96hp and 120Nm on petrol, the CNG kit will be fitted at the company’s dealerships across India. The American brand states that the Aspire CNG uses the latest sequential technology for the integration of the CNG kit and has also equipped the model with a factory programmed speed governor that restricts speed to 80kph.
The CNG kit is also integrated with the Engine Control Unit (ECU) for smoother operation and optimised gas flow in each cylinder. Engineering elements such as a front stabilizer bar has been added to compensate for the extra weight of the CNG cylinder and ensure the handling and comfort isn’t adversely affected.
The Aspire CNG is well-equipped as it comes with dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, remote central locking and adjustable headrests as standard, along with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and satellite navigation, a climate control system and power windows, among others.
Ford offers a 1,00,000Km/2-year warranty package with the CNG kit, claiming that the new Ford Aspire CNG's maintenance cost is only 46 paise/km, up to 1,00,000 km.
