Soon after Ford teased its new EcoSport Storm compact SUV for the Brazilian market, images of the model have surfaced online.

The leaked images of the rugged-looking compact SUV confirm the styling-based tweaks seen in the teaser, including the F-150 Raptor-like grille lettering, 'Storm' badging and a matte black finish all around, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Besides the visual changes seen in the teaser, the leak also suggested that the EcoSport Storm will come with four-wheel-drive coupled to the 2.0-litre Direct Flex engine that produces different outputs based on the fuel used. It makes 170hp and 202Nm of torque on petrol, and 176hp and 221Nm of peak torque on ethanol. The motor is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The North American model also comes with the option of a 2.0-litre petrol engine with four-wheel-drive.

On the inside, the compact SUV features a dual-tone orange and grey finish on the centre console which houses the AC controls, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

In the Indian market, the EcoSport is available with a new 123hp, 1.5-litre Dragon petrol engine and a 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor. While there is no word on Ford bringing the EcoSport Storm to India, the American carmaker is expected to launch the refreshed Mustang, facelifts for the Figo and Aspire, and a cross-hatch based on the Figo in the coming months.

Let us know in the comments if you think Ford should bring this rugged, all-wheel-drive version to India.
