Ford has finally taken the wraps off the updated Endeavour (Everest) SUV, which will go on sale first in Australia, followed by other ASEAN regions. Its India launch is expected to take place next year.

The refreshed SUV gets styling tweaks on the front with an updated grille, bumper and headlamp inserts. It also comes with new-look and larger 20-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, it will get slightly modded interiors, and the infotainment system will see an inclusion of Ford’s Sync 3 interface. As far as safety goes, the SUV gets autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

Under the hood, the facelifted Endeavour (Everest) gets an all-new 2.0-litre diesel motor, which was introduced internationally on the Ranger pickup truck, along with a new 10-speed automatic. It comes with two output options – a 180hp/420Nm variant and a twin-turbo 213hp/500Nm one.

While this engine will be available on the SUV sold in most international markets, sadly it won’t make it to our shores. As reported by us earlier, the current engine line-up on the India-spec Ford Endeavour SUV will see an update to make them sail through the stricter BS-VI emission norms that will come into play sometime in 2020.

The refreshed SUV will take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, the Isuzu MU-X, and the Skoda Kodiaq.
