Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (HATC), the Honda automobile production subsidiary in Thailand, has resumed production of automobiles on March 26 after suspending production since October 4, 2011, due to damaged sustained from the massive flooding in Thailand.
Since completing the drainage of the flood water at the end of November 2011, HATC had implemented company-wide efforts to clean, inspect, repair and replace plant facilities and manufacturing equipment, which were damaged by the flood. HATC plans to hold a ceremony on March 31 to commemorate the resumption of production.
Honda has been supplying automobiles and components alternatively from Japan to some countries in the Asia Oceania Region including India, which were impacted by the disruption of production due to the flooding. However, as of March 26, all production plants have resumed production and are expected to normalise in April.
HONDA SIEL CARS India (HSCI), the Indian-arm of Honda Motor Co, had resumed regular production from February 17, having acquired critical components from Japan and China to normalise production at the Greater Noida plant.
