Hyundai has launched the Aura E CNG at Rs 7.49 lakh, making it the most affordable CNG variant on offer with the sedan. The sedan now offers CNG on three different variants, namely E, S and SX.
- Aura CNG now more affordable by Rs 82,000
- Continues with a single-cylinder unlike Exter, Grand i10 Nios
The Hyundai Aura E CNG costs Rs 1 lakh over the corresponding entry-level petrol E variant. It brings the price of the Aura CNG down by about Rs 82,000. This also makes it the most affordable CNG sedan in India, undercutting the likes of the Tata Tigor CNG and Maruti Dzire CNG. Do note that the Aura is the only CNG from Hyundai that's yet to be updated with a dual-cylinder setup. The Grand i10 Nios CNG and Exter CNG were both updated recently.
Hyundai Aura CNG powertrain, specs
Powering the Aura CNG is an 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. This produces 69hp and 95Nm on CNG, and 83hp and 114Nm when running on petrol. Hyundai only offers a 5-speed manual with the Aura CNG, while the petrol variants get a 5-speed AMT option as well.
The Aura CNG goes up against the Tigor CNG (Rs 7.75 lakh-9.95 lakh) and Dzire CNG (Rs 8.44 lakh-9.12 lakh), while the petrol version also faces competition from the Honda Amaze. Pricing for the Hyundai Aura petrol ranges from Rs 6.49 lakh-9.05 lakh. Its rivals, the Dzire and Amaze, are both set to receive generational updates this year.
