Hyundai has started testing the mid-cycle facelift of its popular Creta SUV in India. The Creta, which has been a strong seller in its segment, has been on sale in India since 2015.
Globally, Hyundai sells two different versions of the refreshed Creta SUV. As reported by us earlier, the facelift headed to India will get a styling similar to the China-spec model.
The refreshed SUV, as seen from the spy pics, gets a larger hexagonal grille with a thick chrome surround. The grille now merges with the chunky new front bumper that sports creases and has separate housings for the fog lamps. Also new is a thick black chin that further enhances the SUV's muscular appearance. You can also expect the updated model to come with a new alloy wheel design.
At the rear, the new Creta will get a slightly tweaked bumper design. The China-spec car gets Mercedes-like rectangular exhaust tips, but it remains to be seen if this will make it to the Creta for India.
The Creta facelift is expected to lose out on the 1.4-litre engine and instead come with the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel units. Hyundai is likely to launch the updated Creta by mid-2018.
