Hyundai Creta: pending orders June 2024

The order backlog is down by about 2,000 units as compared to April 2024, when the pending orders were sitting at 35,000 units. With 33,000 units still to be delivered, the Creta makes up for more than half of Hyundai’s entire order backlog (65,000 units) this month – down from 70,000 units in April. The waiting period for the midsize SUV is about 10 weeks; the sporty Creta N Line also has the same waiting period.

While Hyundai sold 14,662 units of the Creta in May 2024, the company says that the average monthly sales numbers for the SUV are at 15,000 units. Furthermore, the company claims that first-time Creta buyers have doubled, from 14 percent in 2021 to 28 percent in 2024. The Creta currently competes in one of the most competitive segments in the auto industry, with the likes of the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and Honda Elevate.

The Hyundai Creta is currently priced from Rs 13.48 lakh to Rs 24.47 lakh (ex-showroom), and is available with 115hp, 1.5-litre NA petrol; 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol; and 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine options.

Hyundai Creta EV, new Alcazar incoming

Talking about Hyundai's products in India, the Creta will soon receive an EV powertrain, with production of the e-SUV set to commence by the end of this year. The Creta EV will directly rival the upcoming Maruti eVX, Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV.

Creta’s three-row sibling, the Alcazar, will receive a mid-life makeover later this year. The update will bring new front and rear-end designs, a revised cabin layout, new features, as well as ADAS. The Alcazar is currently available with discounts of up to Rs 70,000.
