Hyundai Motor India has announced that the second-gen Creta has completed one full year of sales in the Indian market. Hyundai had launched the new Creta in India on March 16, 2020, just before the COVID-19 lockdown.

Hyundai Creta: most popular variants and waiting period
According to Hyundai, the Creta has gathered 1.21 lakh unit sales in its first year of sales. Hyundai claims that higher variants of the SUV, like the Creta SX and the Creta SX(O), are drawing a larger amount of orders. As many as 60 percent of the total Creta customers buy these two variants – both get features such as a LED headlights, alloys wheels, rear disc brakes, ISOFIX anchors, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and AppleCarPlay, wireless smartphone charging and a panoramic sunroof, though the top-spec SX(O) adds four airbags to the SX’s two, an electronic parking brake, hill-start assist, ESC, leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats and a full-digital instrument cluster.
Prices for the Hyundai Creta SX start at Rs 13.80 lakh the petrol variant and go up to Rs 17.49 lakh for the top-spec Creta SX(O) diesel. Waiting periods for these two variants range between six and twelve weeks, depending on configuration.

The company has also announced that over 60 percent of the customers have selected the diesel-powered Creta. The Creta diesel comes with a 1.5-litre engine good for 115hp and 250Nm of torque. Prices for the Creta diesel start at Rs 10.31 lakh and go up to Rs 17.49 lakh.

Hyundai has also confirmed that the Creta automatic has gathered 20 percent of the SUV's total sales in India. The Creta is one of the few SUVs that comes with multiple automatic gearboxes depending on engine – there’s a torque convertor for the diesel, a CVT automatic for the 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a DCT gearbox for the 140hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Hyundai: New cars and SUV launches in 2021
The Korean brand will introduce a three-row variant based on the Creta SUV, named the Hyundai Alcazar, this year. This new SUV will see a debut next month and will go on sale a little later. Additionally, there are talks of Hyundai launching another SUV below the Venue in the Indian market, codename AX1.
