The Hyundai Venue has created a lot of buzz over the past fortnight and the compact SUV's reveal has only piqued interest further. While the compact SUV will go on sale on May 21, 2019, we can confirm that Hyundai will officially open bookings for the model on May 2, 2019. A few dealers have been accepting deposits on the SUV, already.
Hyundai will follow a similar booking strategy the brand had used for the Santro - opening bookings on its website in addition to at dealerships. Online bookings would be processed further and the vehicle will be delivered by the Hyundai dealer closest to the buyer.
As is known, the Hyundai Venue will come with three engine options - an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol, a 90hp, 1.4 diesel and a new-for-India 120hp, 1.0 turbo-petrol, the last of which will also be available with a dual-clutch transmission. A diesel-auto combination, as offered on the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will, unfortunately, not be an option on the Venue.
What’s yet to be revealed is the exact variant breakup for the various engine-gearbox options. However, top-spec Venues will be well-equipped with a sunroof, wireless charging, cruise control, keyless go and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Venue will also set the benchmark for connectivity in the compact SUV segment with its e-SIM-based Blue Link system that offers 33 functions.
Hyundai Venue prices are expected to be in the Rs 8-12 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom) bracket which could make it among the pricier models in the category. The Hyundai Venue will rival the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport.
