The 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit is shared with the new Creta, and can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The second petrol unit is the 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Venue that is exclusively paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The diesel on offer is a 115hp, 1.5-litre unit coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. It also comes with the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Apart from the mechanical and styling updates, the Verna facelift also gains more equipment to give it an edge over the competition.
Given below are the segment-first features that are part of the Hyundai Verna facelift list:
1. Blue Link telematics system
After the Venue, Elantra and Creta, the Verna facelift is the latest model to feature Hyundai’s Blue Link connectivity suite with 45 features, including voice commands for in-car functions, remote engine and air-con operation (automatics only). The Blue Link system also lets owners access certain in-car functions via their smartwatches.
2. Digital instrument cluster with 4.2-inch MID
The Verna facelift becomes the first midsize sedan to feature a fully digital instrument cluster. It also gets a 4.2-inch multi-information display in the centre of the instrument cluster.

A feature that is becoming increasingly common in Hyundais, the Verna facelift too gets wireless charging functionality. The wireless charging pad is situated in the space ahead of the gear lever.
4. Rear USB charging point
While a rear 12V power outlet is not new in the segment, the Hyundai Verna facelift comes with a segment-first rear USB charging point.
5. Ventilated front seats
Like the previous model, the Verna facelift also has the distinction of being the only sedan to get cooled front seats in this segment. This feature will be much appreciated by owners during the summer months.
6. Hands-free boot opening
The Verna facelift comes with hands-free boot opening functionality that’s dubbed ‘Smart Boot’ by Hyundai. This feature opens up the boot automatically when it senses that the key fob is near the boot.
7. Emergency stop signal
Hyundai has also equipped the Verna facelift with an emergency stop signal. This feature flashes the hazard lights under hard braking to prevent a rear-end collision.
8. Arkamys audio system
Hyundai has also equipped the Verna facelift with an Arkamys premium sound system, and it is available right from the base S trim itself.
Much like its predecessor, the Hyundai Verna facelift competes with sedans like the Honda City, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the Volkswagen Vento, the Skoda Rapid and the Toyota Yaris.
