Volvo has revealed the XC60 facelift, which gets a tweaked exterior design and more technology, as part of the update. The XC60 was Volvo’s highest selling model in 2020, reaching almost 2,00,000 units, and accounted for nearly 29 percent of Volvo Cars’ total sales.

While a majority of the changes are inside the cabin, Volvo has made some subtle changes to the XC60’s exterior design. It features a new front grille and a new front bumper with plenty of chrome trim. The Volvo XC60 facelift also gets new exterior colour options and alloy wheel designs.
2021 Volvo XC60 facelift: what's new on the inside?
The Volvo XC60 facelift gains a new Android-powered infotainment system that’s been developed in collaboration with Google.The system offers access to apps, such as Google Maps, and third-party services, such as Spotify, and can be synchronised with other devices through a user account. Volvo claims it offers a true “smartphone-like”experience.
To support the system, Volvo has also launched a new Digital Services package, which will be offered with all its models featuring the system. It includes access to Google apps, Google assistant, the Volvo on Call app, wireless phone charging and "all data" required to run the service.
The XC60 facelift also features new interior materials, including leather-free options as well as ‘City Weave’ textile upholstery. In terms of safety upgrades, the XC60 facelift comes equipped with Volvo’s latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
2021 Volvo XC60 facelift: engine and powertrain options
The current, pre-facelift Volvo XC60 in India is powered by a solitary 2.0-litre diesel engine in 190hp and 235hp states of tune. However, the XC60 facelift in India will be a petrol-only model upon its arrival, as the manufacturer plans to have a petrol and electric-only line-up from 2022.
The Volvo XC60 facelift will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. However, it remains to be seen which state of tune the engine will be offered in. Volvo currently offers it in international markets in T4 (190hp, turbocharged), T5 (250hp, turbocharged) and T6 (310hp, turbocharged and supercharged) tunes.
Upcoming Volvo cars and SUVs for India in 2021
2021 is slated to be a big year for the Swedish manufacturer in India. Having already showcased the soon-to-launch XC40 Recharge EV, Volvo India will also launch the XC60 facelift and S90 facelift this year. Meanwhile, the recently revealed C40 Recharge SUV-coupe will make its way to India as well in 2022. Volvo also plans on going fully-electric by 2030 and shifting all sales online.
