The Jaguar F-Pace for our market will soon be updated with the facelifted version that went on sale globally late last year. Jaguar Land Rover India has commenced bookings for the 2021 model year, and has announced that deliveries will begin from May. The facelift will bring in a refreshed design, more equipment and an updated set of powertrains for the SUV. Let’s take a look at what to expect.
- 2021 F-Pace to get a sole R-Dynamic S trim
- 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines to be offered
- Deliveries start in May 2021
Jaguar F-Pace facelift: design
The updated F-Pace is marked out by a more prominent grille, reworked bumpers, sharper LED headlamps and tail lamps and a bonnet that extends right up to the grille. And as a first for India, Jaguar says that the model will be available with the R-Dynamic pack that adds a ‘Shadow Atlas’ finish to the diamond mesh grille, blacked out inserts on the bumper and black alloy wheels.
While the facelifted SUV largely retains the characteristic look of the outgoing model on the outside, it is the cabin that has been thoroughly redesigned. The dashboard features contemporary styling, with horizontal slats spanning the whole width and connecting the side and central air vents. A new steering wheel (borrowed from the I-Pace), a larger touchscreen, revised air-con controls and a stubby gear lever (replacing the rotary gear knob) are some of the highlights.
Jaguar F-Pace facelift: features
The MY2020 F-Pace was available in a single Prestige variant, replete with kit such as cruise control, panoramic sunroof, adaptive LED headlights, powered front seats with memory function for the driver, powered reclining rear seats, rear parking camera, ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, 10-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch instrument display.
Jaguar has revealed that it will be offering the 2021 model in the sole R-Dynamic S trim. As such, expect it to up the equipment levels with features like the brand’s latest, 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech and 360-degree parking camera.
Jaguar F-Pace facelift: engine-gearbox options
Jaguar discontinued the F-Pace’s 180hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine with the switch to BS6, and continued with only a 250hp, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol motor.
However, the British automaker has announced that it will be bringing back diesel power to the 2021 F-Pace which will be available with 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel and petrol engines. In global markets, the said diesel mill is available in the 163hp and 204hp states of tune, while the petrol puts out 250hp of power. An 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive setup are standard across the range.
Abroad, Jaguar also offers its powertrains on the updated F-Pace with a mild-hybrid system, though it still remains to be seen if the electrified tech is brought to India.
Jaguar F-Pace facelift: price estimate
The outgoing F-Pace Prestige petrol is priced at Rs 66.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The facelift is expected to see a mark-up when it is launched in the coming weeks, with an expected sticker price in the range of Rs 68-75 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom). The Jaguar will continue rivalling the Mercedes-Benz GLE and the BMW X5 in our market.
