This Diwali, dealers of Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Skoda, Jeep and Citroen SUVs are offering discounts on a range of models. Discounts range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 3.5 lakh, and some offers are only on certain model year vehicles. We list the SUVs in order of lowest to highest discount offered.

Disclaimer: Discounts vary from city to city and are subject to the availability of stock. Please check with your local dealer for exact discount figures.

Mahindra Bolero Neo

Benefits of up to Rs 50,000

Earlier known as TUV300, the model was rebranded as the Bolero Neo. The compact SUV has a few more features than the original Bolero SUV that it's based on. The Neo is powered by a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine that puts out 100hp and 260Nm. The top-spec variant of the Bolero Neo comes with a mechanical locking differential (MLD) that helps it tackle rough roads. The compact SUV is available in a seven-seater configuration, and along with its rear-wheel-drive, it is a unique proposition in its segment. Mahindra dealers are offering discounts in the range of Rs 50,000 on this rugged sub-four-metre Mahindra SUV.

Mahindra Bolero

Benefits of up to Rs 70,000

The Bolero is one of the oldest offerings from the Mahindra stable. The workhorse was first introduced in 2000, it has seen multiple facelifts, and is now powered by a 76hp, 1.5-litre, three-cylinder mHawk diesel engine that's been updated to comply with the latest safety and emissions regulations. The Bolero is available only in seven-seat form and is a rugged, utilitarian vehicle. Even after it has been on sale for more than 20 years, it continues to get the numbers for Mahindra, regularly making an appearance towards the higher end of Mahindra's sales charts, behind only the Scorpio. Discounts of up to Rs 70,000 can be availed this Diwali on this UV.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny Zeta

Benefits of up to Rs 1 lakh

The Zeta is the entry-level variant in the Maruti Jimny line-up. It has the same 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine as the top-spec Alpha variant, including its 4WD off-road gear. As far as features go, the Jimny Zeta gets steel wheels, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six airbags and ESP, among others. The Jimny has been a niche product for the brand and has been steadily doing around 3,000 units a month since its launch. Dealers tell us that the Jimny Zeta is currently available with a flat discount of Rs 50,000, and there's an additional Rs 50,000 exchange or loyalty bonus on offer. Both manual and automatic transmission options of the Zeta variant qualify for these discounts.

Volkswagen Taigun

Benefits of up to Rs 1 lakh

The Volkswagen Taigun is a sister SUV to the Kushaq and shares its mechanicals and tech. However, the Taigun has a more minimalistic interior theme when compared to the Skoda. The Volkswagen comes with a choice of powertrain options. There is a 1.0-litre TSI engine that makes 115hp and 178Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. Also on offer is a more powerful 1.5-litre TSI that churns out 150hp and 250Nm. While this engine can be paired with the same 6-speed manual gearbox, there's also the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Higher variants of the SUV are available with discounts of around Rs 1 lakh, while lower variants get benefits worth up to Rs 65,000.

Mahindra XUV300

Benefits of up to Rs 1.2 lakh

Launched in 2019, the Mahindra XUV300 was the brand's answer to the Tata Nexon. The compact SUV is available with three engine options – a 110hp petrol, a 130hp petrol and a 117hp diesel engine. While the 130hp TGDi engine is currently only available with a manual gearbox, we recently reported that it's also getting an auto gearbox. The XUV300 is the slowest-selling compact SUV in the segment and this could be due to major feature and design updates coming early next year. Current stocks are being offered with discounts of around Rs 1.2 lakh at most outlets.

Jeep Meridian

Benefits of up to Rs 1.30 lakh

The Jeep Meridian is a three-row derivative of the Compass. Like the Compass, the seven-seater Meridian also uses the 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 170hp and 350Nm of torque. It's available with the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 9-speed automatic transmission; while the manual comes only with the 4x2, the top-spec automatic models get the four-wheel drivetrain. The Meridian faces stiff rivalry from the segment leader, Toyota Fortuner and is available with discounts in the range of Rs 1 lakh-1.30 lakh, depending on unsold stock.

Jeep Compass

Benefits of up to Rs 1.45 lakh

Jeep's made-in-India SUV, the Compass is tough and offers great ride quality. The Compass was initially offered with a petrol engine, but that was discontinued a few months back. It is now available solely with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that also does duties in the larger Meridian. The SUV is priced on the higher side when compared to bigger and feature-rich SUVs at its price point, but it boasts genuine off-road capabilities over rivals. All 4WD variants of the Jeep Compass are being offered with benefits, with some getting discounts in the range of Rs 1.45 lakh.

Skoda Kushaq

Benefits of up to Rs 1.5 lakh

The Kushaq is Skoda’s contender in the very competitive midsize SUV segment. The powertrain options are the same as the Volkswagen Taigun mentioned above. The Kushaq gets multiple special editions such as the Monte Carlo and Matte edition. Skoda also recently updated top-spec variants of the Kushaq and Slavia with powered front seats and the bigger 10-inch touchscreen. Discounts of around Rs 1.5 lakh are available for the higher variants at most locations.

Citroen C5 Aircross

Benefits of up to Rs 2 lakh

Citroen's flagship offering in India, the C5 Aircross is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that puts out 177hp and 400Nm. The SUV was launched in 2021 at Rs 29.9 lakh, and received a facelift in 2022, which saw the prices hiked up to Rs 36.67 lakh, but prices now start at Rs 37.67 lakh. The slow-selling C5 Aircross is one of the best-riding SUVs in India. Typically French, it has a quirky exterior and interior. Discounts in the range of Rs 2 lakh are on offer on this SUV.

Mahindra XUV400

Benefits of up to Rs 3.5 lakh

The Mahindra XUV400 rivals the Tata Nexon EV in the electric hatchback space. The XUV400 is not as polished or feature-equipped as its Tata rival, but it is larger and offers more power than the Nexon EV. With the facelift of the Nexon, Mahindra has given its EV additional features as well. Early units of the XUV400 EV are still available with healthy discounts in the range of Rs 3.5 lakh. Most of these discounted units lack the added features, including ESP.
