Jeep India is all set to add more variants to its popular Compass line-up. The company currently sells the Compass in 10 variants available in two engine and two gearbox options. Jeep is readying the Compass Limited Plus variant for an India launch, which is likely to be introduced sometime around Dusshera (October 19, 2018, Friday). These exclusive spy shots give us a hint on what to expect from the Jeep Compass Limited Plus trim.
First up, the upcoming top-end variant will see the addition of a panoramic sunroof, something which is quite sought after these days as far as Indian buyer preferences go. Additionally, this trim will come with a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 18-inch alloy wheels and power adjustable driver (eight-way) and front passenger (four-way) seats.
On the safety front, dual-front, side and curtain airbags, and rain-sensing wipers are on offer as standard equipment on this variant. The Jeep Compass Limited Plus will be sold in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 173hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine will be available with the same six-speed manual gearbox, though there will not be a diesel-automatic on offer yet. The Limited Plus petrol trim will be sold with the same 163hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to an automatic gearbox.
Expect the Compass Limited Plus to be priced at least about Rs 1.5 lakh more than the current top-spec Limited 4x4 (O) trim (Rs 21.94 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi) when it launches next month. Jeep will also introduce a Compass Black Pack edition, soon and is expected to launch the rugged Jeep Compass Trailhawk variant sometime in first half of 2019.
