Part of Kia's expansive display at the 2018 Auto Expo is the Ceed, a premium hatchback with a big emphasis on style. With a 4.3m length, the Ceed's dimensions are unlike other compact hatchbacks and it is pretty loaded with kit like dual-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, adaptive front lights, as well as safety bits like blind spot detection system and lane departure warning.
The display car is powered by a 200hp, 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine.
It is unlikely that Kia will bring the Ceed to India given that it would sit above the current range of premium hatches including the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20, and thus are likely to find few takers. The brand's wide and diverse line-up at the Auto Expo, however, is relevant to India as it shows the company as a strong carmaker.
What India can expect from Kia is an SUV based on the SP Concept, which will go on sale in India next year.
