Kia EV6 has been voluntarily recalled by the brand. A total of 1,380 units of the EV6, manufactured between March 3, 2022, and April 14, 2023, are affected by the recall. The software update in the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) aims to improve the charging and performance of the 12V auxiliary battery. This battery powers the Kia EV's lights, wipers and music system.

Notably, Kia recalled 1,138 units of the EV6 in 2024 due to a potential error in the ICCU, which could affect the performance of the 12V battery. Further, a similar recall was issued for its Hyundai Ioniq 5 sibling during the same year.
