The Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder is set to launch in India on October 10, 2019. The Spyder will join its sibling, the Huracan Evo coupé that went on sale this February.
The drop-top Huracan Evo Spyder shares its mechanicals with its coupé sibling, meaning it runs the same 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine that makes 640hp and 600Nm, and is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Also carried over to the Spyder is the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) chassis control system, rear-wheel steering, and torque vectoring system.
Lamborghini claims a 0-100kph time of just 3.1sec – 0.2sec slower than the coupé – while top speed is identical.
The Spyder, though, is 120kg heavier owing partly to the electro-hydraulic roof-folding mechanism that can lower the soft-top in 17 seconds at speeds of up to 50kph. It also gets pop-up rollover bars and revised styling for the rear deck to accommodate the folding roof, and a revised engine cover.
Inside, the cabin will be similar to the coupé and expect the carmaker to offer a high degree of customisability.
Expect the drop-top Lamborghini Huracan Spyder to cost a premium over the standard Huracan Evo which is priced at Rs 3.73 crore (ex-showroom, India).
