The Mahindra Bolero model range has expanded with the addition of the new Bolero Neo. Essentially an updated TUV300, the new compact SUV has been merged into the Bolero brand and is available as a more premium alternative to the standard Bolero. The Neo is currently available in three trim levels – N4, N8 and N10 – with an N10(O) variant equipped with a mechanical differential lock going on sale at a later date. We take a look at each variant.

As mentioned previously, a fourth Bolero Neo N10(O) variant will go on sale at a later date. This variant will crucially get the addition of a mechanical locking rear differential.
Mahindra Bolero Neo: Engine and gearbox
The Bolero Neo is available solely with a diesel engine and manual gearbox. The engine in question is the familiar 1.5-litre three-cylinder mHawk100 mill from the outgoing TUV300. The unit develops 100hp and 260Nm of torque and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the outgoing TUV300 was also offered with an AMT gearbox option, the Neo for now is a manual only.
Mahindra Bolero Neo: Rivals
Being a body-on-frame SUV, the Bolero Neo is rather unique in the sub-4 metre segment with no direct competition. However, given its pricing it will go up against the likes of the monocoque compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Vitara Brezza and others.
