Mahindra has introduced its new tech-based premium e-mobility service, Glyd, in Mumbai, flagging off the first batch of 10 eVeritos at the launch event. Currently only servicing limited routes, the new ride-hailing service is aimed at office going executives.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Goenka, managing director, M&M Ltd., said, “As the pioneers of electric vehicles in the country, Mahindra has from time to time provided innovative and first of its kind e-mobility solutions. Glyd is one such flagship premium e-mobility solution to redefine the in-commute experience of daily commuters. This is our unique step to drive positive change towards a smart, sustainable and experiential daily commute. Going forward we plan to launch multiple e-mobility solutions, across cities”.
Mahindra says that its new service will offer premium features such as in-car Wi-Fi, web-conferencing service, and entertainment and music content streaming from selected partners. The eVeritos flagged on in the initiative also feature bolstered seats, wrap-around headrests, custom designed armrest, air-purifier and a privacy screen.
Partners for the new e-mobility service include Vodafone-Idea Limited and Cisco Systems Limited.
In recent years, Mahindra has supplied its EVs to multiple ride-hailing services and government offices, including Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), the Maharashtra government, Uber, Meru and Zoomcar.
