The sub-4-metre SUV segment is one of the most hotly contested in the Indian automotive industry. Mahindra is working on a mid-life update for its XUV300, and with the compact SUV recently being spied on test ahead of its launch in the coming weeks, here are some fresh details:

  1. Base, mid and top variants of XUV300 facelift spied together
  2. Turn indicators on wing mirrors on all variants
  3. Interior to be borrowed from 2024 XUV400

Three different variants of the XUV300 were spotted together, and as the front and rear were under camouflage, the only way to differentiate them with were the wheels. The base and mid-level variants get steel wheels with plastic wheel caps, albeit with a different design, while the top-end carries over the same diamond-cut alloy wheels as the current model. All three variants are seen with turn indicators placed on the wing mirrors.

An interior shot of the XUV300 test mule reveals that it will be equipped with a larger, free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the XUV400. The XUV300 facelift could also be offered with a fully digital instrument cluster, much like its rivals the Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet.

The front- and rear-end of the Mahindra XUV300 facelift will likely feature a major styling overhaul, inspired by Mahindra’s BE line-up of electric SUVs that will go on sale in 2025. Up until last month, Mahindra dealerships were offering massive discounts of up to Rs 1.82 lakh on the XUV300, hinting that the facelift is just around the corner.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift powertrain options

The Mahindra XUV300 is available with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine in two states of tune: 110hp and 131hp, and a 1.5-litre diesel motor producing 117hp. The TurboSport variant (131hp) comes with only a manual, while the other two get manual and AMT gearbox options. The XUV300 facelift is expected to get a new torque converter automatic option for the 1.2-litre TGDi engine with the higher state of tune.
