Right from its debut back in 2021, the Mahindra XUV700 has been in the limelight, not just for what it offers but also for its constantly rising waiting period. A few months ago, the waiting period of Mahindra’s flagship SUV peaked at 19 months for some variants. However, a quick check with the dealers now shows that waiting periods for the XUV700 have now begun to come down.
- XUV700 AX7 L waiting period now at 16 months
- XUV700 MX petrol has the shortest waiting period
Mahindra XUV700 waiting periods: September 2022
While customers currently booking the petrol-powered XUV700 MX, AX3 or AX5 variants can expect their vehicle to be delivered in between two to three months, diesel variants of the same trims see a much higher waiting period of around 10 months at most locations.
The petrol and diesel variants of the top-spec AX7 and AX7 L trims, which come loaded with all the bells and whistles, are the most in demand. The waiting period for the AX7 is currently around 15 months while the AX7 L has slightly more at 16 months, according to dealer sources.

---|---|---|
Trim | Petrol | Diesel |
MX | 2-3 months | Up to 10 months |

AX5 | 2-3 months | Up to 10 months |
AX7 | Up to 15 months | Up to 15 months |

While waiting periods for the top variants are still significant, they are lower by three months when compared to what they were around July this year. There is also a marginal decrease in the delivery time for the MX range. According to Mahindra dealers, the company is dispatching around 6,000 units every month, which is much higher than what was being dispatched last year.
The XUV700 rivals the likes of the Tata Safari, the MG Hector Plus and the Hyundai Alcazar in India. It also faces competition from one of its siblings, the newly launched Mahindra Scorpio N.
