Maruti Suzuki has taken the wraps off a sportier variant of its popular Baleno hatchback. Dubbed the Baleno RS, the talking point of this concept is its use of the new 110bhp 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol motor.
Apart from the change in engine, the Baleno RS is likely to get a subtle body kit to differentiate it from the standard car. Maruti is likely to launch the production version of the Baleno RS around Diwali and it will be sold via Nexa dealerships like the standard car.
The Baleno RS will compete with the likes of the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI, Abarth Punto and the Ford Figo 1.5 petrol.
Alongside the Baleno RS, the carmaker has showcased the Ignis concept and the Vitara Brezza SUV as well.
