In an attempt to improve the ownership and aftersales experience, Maruti Suzuki has introduced a new initiative called ‘Service on Wheels’. This initiative essentially utilises Maruti’s new mobile ‘smart workshops’ – equipped with modern tools and new technology – to undertake service and repairs for customer cars away from the service centres.
For customers, this should translate to an increase in convenience as they can now avail repairs and maintenance services at their doorstep. This new initiative will be especially useful for those who don’t have time to send their cars to the service centre or if the centre is very far from where they live.
The ‘Service on Wheels’ mobile workshops are equipped to carry out both paid and free services, just like a regular Maruti Suzuki service centre. This means that it can perform repairs, under-body inspections, oil changes, and filter cleans, among other jobs. Maruti Suzuki will offer this new service on all engine types – petrol, diesel and CNG – that are available in the carmaker’s portfolio.
According to Maruti, the ‘Service on Wheels’ mobile workshops will add to its already extensive service network, which consists of over 3,600 workshops across 1,800 towns and cities in India. This move should improve customer access to vehicle servicing and make it considerably easier for them maintain their cars.
