What engine does the S-cross petrol get?
Like the Vitara Brezza facelift, the S-Cross loses the old 90hp, 1.3-litre diesel engine in favour of Maruti’s K15B petrol engine that also does duty in the Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6. The 1.5-litre petrol unit produces 105hp and 138Nm, and can be had with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. All variants come with Maruti’s SHVS mild-hybrid system, which includes fuel-saving engine stop-start technology. The S-Cross petrol’s ARAI-rated fuel economy is 18.55kpl for the manual and 18.43kpl for the automatic.
