The Maserati Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo high-performance luxury sedans have been revealed. Capable of a top speed of 326kph, the new range-topping variants are the fastest iterations of their respective models.

What are the Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo powered by?
The Trofeo-badged pair are powered by a Ferrari-derived V8 engine. The 3.8-litre unit puts out 580hp at 6,750rpm and 730Nm at 2,250-5,250rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels, through a ZF-supplied 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Ghibli Trofeo can crack 0-100kph in 4.3sec, while the Quattroporte Trofeo takes 0.2sec more. As mentioned earlier, both sedans can reach a top speed of 326kph.
What are the other changes to the Quattroporte and Ghibli Trofeo?
Maserati has added a new, hardcore ‘Corsa’ driving mode to the super-sedans, which improves throttle and engine responses, quickens gearshifts, fully opens the exhaust valves, stiffens and lowers the suspension and limits the intervention of the electronic chassis control systems. It also includes a Launch Control function.
Both sedans feature muscular styling upgrades to distinguish them from their lesser siblings, and improve aerodynamic efficiency and cooling. Larger, 21-inch alloys are also fitted. Furthermore, there are sporty new trims and leather sports seats inside to match, along with Maserati’s latest MIA infotainment, which is controlled via an enlarged (10.1-inch versus 8.4-inch) touchscreen.
Do the Trofeo siblings have any competitors?
In international markets, the Maserati Ghibli Trofeo will take on the likes of the BMW M3, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 and the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. The larger Maserati Quattroporte Trofeo, meanwhile, competes with super sedans like the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-AMG E 63.
Are the Maserati Trofeo models coming to India?
Maserati will bring the Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo to our market, along with the Levante Trofeo SUV, which is powered by the same engine, but gets all-wheel-drive. Bookings have been opened for all three Trofeo models, with prices set to be announced in the coming months. The Italian manufacturer is currently looking to expand its presence in India by increasing the number of dealerships. Other Maseratis headed for India include the Ghibli Hybrid and the soon-to-be-revealed MC20 super sports car.
