Mercedes EQB facelift: exterior, interior design

The Mercedes EQB facelift has a new grille panel featuring Mercedes' signature star pattern, as seen on its latest EVs such as the newly launched EQA. Along with the slightly revised bumpers, it also gets a new horizontal pattern for the full-width LED tail lamps.

Inside, the star-patterned design features on the dashboard and door trim pieces, and is backlit to link it with the S-Class and EQS. It also comes with Mercedes' new touch-capacitive three-spoke steering wheel and the option of open-pore wood trim.

Mercedes-Benz EQB facelift: features

The EQB facelift has the latest MBUX infotainment interface, a Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, ADAS Level 2 functions, 19-inch AMG alloy wheels and seven airbags among other features. It now comes in both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations, unlike the pre-facelift model which was only available in the 7-seat configuration.

Mercedes-Benz EQB facelift: powertrain, battery, range

Mercedes is offering the EQB facelift in two trims: the EQB 250+ with a 70.5kWh battery with a single electric motor mounted at the front, producing 190hp and 385Nm torque, and the EQB 350 4Matic featuring a dual-motor setup with all-wheel drive, producing a combined 292hp and 520Nm torque. The EQB 350 4Matic can sprint from 0-100kph in 6.2 seconds.

The smaller battery pack provides a WLTP-certified range of up to 447km, while the larger unit offers up to 535km on a single charge. Using a DC fast charger, the EQB facelift's battery can charge from 10% to 80% in 32-35 minutes. Charging the 350 4Matic trim fully takes approximately 6 hours 45 minutes with an 11kW AC charger, and the 250+ trim takes about 7 hours 15 minutes.

The EQB currently has no direct rivals in the Indian market. It sits above the newly launched EQA in Mercedes’ EV portfolio, and faces some competition from Volvo XC40 Recharge, BMW iX1 among other similarly priced electric vehicles. Deliveries for the EQB facelift will commence in January 2025.
