The limited-run Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition has been launched in India at Rs 44.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Limited to just 15 units, the special edition Mini is available for bookings on the company’s online portal.

Mini Convertible S Sidewalk Edition: What’s different?
The Sidewalk Edition gets a number of cosmetic touches to set it apart from the standard Mini Convertible. The car comes finished in a unique Deep Laguna exterior paint shade with the fabric folding roof also featuring a unique patterning. Also part of the Sidewalk package are model specific racing stripes on the bonnet, body graphics near the side indicators and door sill finishers.
Inside too, the Sidewalk Edition gets variant specific cosmetic touches such as leather seats with Sidewalk badging and contrasting piping and accents and unique trim finish on the dashboard.
Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition specifications
The Sidewalk Edition shares the same engine as the Cooper S Convertible, a 192hp and 280Nm, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Unlike the standard Convertible though, the Sidewalk Edition gets the optional 7-speed dual-clutch Sport gearbox, it’s a Rs. 26,000 option on the standard Convertible as per the company brochure. 0-100kph is achieved in a claimed 7.1 seconds, identical to the standard Convertible.

Equipment on offer includes rear view camera (optional in the standard Convertible), rear parking sensors, auto climate control, LED lights, a wind deflector, 6.5-inch infotainment display and drive modes to name a few. Safety kit on offer includes front and passenger airbags, ABS, stability control, traction control and cornering brake control.
BMW Group to hike prices from November 1
Alongside the launch, BMW Group India, the subsidiary of Mini’s parent company, the BMW Group, has announced a hike in prices for its range of BMW and Mini products. The carmaker has said that it will be hiking prices by up to 3 percent with effect from November 1, 2020.
The company has sited rising production costs and depreciating currency value as the reason for the hike.
