UPDATE: Hyundai Santro gets benefits up to Rs 70,000
Hyundai’s popular SUV, the Creta is now available with a massive amount of benefits and discounts during the festive season. Valid until the end of September, petrol and diesel variants of the Hyundai Creta can be had with up to Rs 80,000 worth of benefits, in addition to 1-year free extended warranty and roadside assistance. This would amount to total discounts and benefits of nearly Rs 1 lakh.
While the Hyundai Creta has long been the undisputed sales champ in the midsize SUV segment, new models like the Kia Seltos (which is technically the Hyundai’s next-gen sibling) have been slowly eating away at the now aging model's dominance. Sales of the Creta have been slowing in recent months – Hyundai sold 8,334 units in June 2019, 6,585 units in July, and sales dropped to 6,001 units in August.
The Hyundai Creta has been on sale for four years now, though the Korean brand has been rolling out updates for it regularly, with a facelift having launched last year in May. Until the next-gen Creta arrives in India next year, the current model – which now feels decidedly last-gen when compared to the Seltos – will have to soldier on.
A well-equipped (especially in top-spec form), user-friendly SUV, the Creta is available with multiple engine gearbox combinations – a 90hp, 1.4-litre diesel-manual; a 123hp, 1.6-litre petrol with manual and automatic options; and a 128hp, 1.6-litre diesel with manual and automatic transmission options. Prices start at Rs 9.99 lakh and go up to Rs 15.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which means the Creta’s rivals include the aforementioned Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks and Renault Captur.
