The FCA-owned, American car brand, Dodge is set to bring back the popular Neon badge to its line-up, with the introduction of a new sedan.

The new Dodge Neon will be based on the recently unveiled Fiat Tipo/Agea sedan that is currently on sale in Turkey and some European nations.

The Neon will also share its key dimensions with its badge-engineered twin – this means it will be 4.5 metres long, 1.48 metres high, 1.78 metres wide and have a wheelbase of 2.64 metres. Boot space will be at 510 litres.

Engine choices are also likely to be borrowed from the Fiat sedan. The range includes 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol and 1.3 and 1.6-litre Multijet diesel engines.

This new sedan will be sold in key emerging markets across South America where Dodge already sells rebadged versions of the Fiat Linea, Fiat Viaggio and the Mitsubishi Attrage.
