Honda dealers have officially started accepting bookings for the second-gen Amaze sedan. The new Honda Amaze can be booked for Rs 21,000. Dealers are expecting the first lot of cars to be delivered by the end of next month.
Honda has also officially confirmed that the new Amaze will come with four powertrain options. This means there will be a 1.2-litre petrol with either a manual or a CVT gearbox, and a 1.5-litre diesel with the option of a CVT as well as a standard manual transmission.
The diesel-CVT Amaze will mark the debut of this powertrain option in the Indian market. CVTs are known to be fuel-efficient and combined with a frugal diesel engine means the new Honda Amaze is expected to deliver excellent fuel-efficiency figures.
The diesel-CVT variant of the Amaze will take on the likes of the VW Ameo diesel DSG, and the diesel AMT variants of the Dzire and the Zest in the competitive Indian compact sedan segment. Paddleshifters will be offered on both petrol CVT and diesel CVT variants of the Amaze sedan.
The Amaze’s styling cues are borrowed from the larger City. On the inside, it will get dual-tone interiors and will be loaded with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, Honda’s Digipad, multi-function steering wheel, and push-button start and cruise control on higher variants. Honda is popular for its clever interior packaging, which means we can expect the cabin to be spacious with more legroom on offer.
The new Honda Amaze will be launched by mid-May 2018 and is expected to be priced higher than the outgoing car.
