Maruti Suzuki is all geared up for the launch of the new-gen Celerio on November 10. Ahead of its launch, multiple spy pictures have been doing rounds on the internet, with the latest set revealing the interior of the new Celerio. While the dashboard has been completely redesigned, there’s a sense of familiarity with certain parts coming from other Maruti models. Here are some of the highlights of the new Celerio’s interiors.

  • Lots of parts sharing with WagonR and S-Presso
  • Gets 7-inch SmartPlay Studio system for the first time
  • Cabin expected to be more spacious than its predecessor

Completely new design over outgoing Celerio

Compared to its predecessor, the interior of the new Celerio has been completely redesigned. The highlight is the new floating touchscreen console, flanked by vertically placed AC vents on either side. The cabin has an all-black theme but is contrasted well with faux aluminum accents on the steering wheel, AC vents and center console. It also scores well on practicality with plenty of cubby holes on the center console and doors.

Gets SmartPlay Studio System for the first time

The new-gen Celerio has gained a touchscreen infotainment system for the first time, running Maruti’s SmartPlay Studio system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The unit is the same that’s offered in all other Maruti models and is likely a 7-inch unit. Interestingly, and rather oddly, the Celerio’s power window buttons are positioned just below the touchscreen, an arrangement seen even on the S-Presso. Meanwhile, the power window buttons for the rear are located in between the front seats.

Gets push button start/stop and auto engine start/stop

The new Celerio has benefitted with the addition of a push button start/stop system and that’s something even the WagonR does not get. Notably, it will also come with segment-first auto engine start/stop feature which should greatly help improve fuel economy. Other highlights on the Celerio include electrically-adjustable outside rear view mirrors and keyless entry. However, the Celerio is expected to get manual air conditioning even on its top-spec trim, whereas rivals like the Tata Tiago get auto AC on top-spec trims.

Steering wheel and instrument cluster shared with the WagonR

The new Celerio gets a steering-mounted controls and a revised instrument cluster that have been lifted straight from the WagonR. The instrument cluster features a large analog speedometer and a small digital console featuring the rev counter, trip meter and fuel gauge. The steering wheel has controls for the audio system and to manage your calls.

Interior space will be more than predecessor

The new Celerio has grown substantially over the model it replaces. Although final dimensions are not known yet, it will be longer, taller, wider and also have a longer wheelbase. This means that the new-gen hatchback will have better space on the inside offering better legroom and headroom.
