Nissan has taken the wraps off its all-new Livina MPV in Indonesia. The new Nissan Livina is based on the latest-gen Mitsubishi Xpander MPV that has been on sale in that market since October 2017. The new Livina not only shares the same platform, but also shares body panels with the Mitsubishi Xpander. Nissan, however, has tweaked the front styling of its MPV to give it a less aggressive look, replete with the brand’s signature V-motion grille. It also gets unique front and rear bumpers and differently designed alloy wheels.
The new Nissan Livina is 4,510 mm long, 1,750 mm wide and 1,695 mm high. It comes with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol good for 104hp and 141Nm of torque, same as Xpander. The MPV comes with two gearbox choices – a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.
The Nissan Livina will be sold primarily in the Indonesian market, where it faces competition from the Mitsubishi Xpander, the new Suzuki Ertiga, Honda BR-V and the Honda Mobilio, which is still sold in that market.
There is no news on the Nissan Livina making it to our shores. However, Mitusbishi does have the Xpander in its long term plans for India.
Do you think the Nissan Livina and Mitsubishi Xpander could be strong rivals to the Ertiga and the Marazzo in India? Let us know in the comments section.
