The all-new Volvo S60 sedan is set to be launched in India in March 2021. The Swedish carmaker will be bringing the third-generation of the luxury sedan and will begin accepting bookings for the S60 from January 2021.
Volvo’s S60 launch in India has seen a massive delay, considering the carmaker was originally slated to launch the model back in the second half of 2019. It has also been over a year, since the second-gen model was discontinued in India back in July 2019, leaving Volvo with only a single sedan offering in India.
New S60 features fresh styling inside out.
It will use 190hp, four-cylinder petrol engine, paired to an 8-speed auto gearbox
Volvo will only offer the S60 in the T4-incription trim in India.
2021 Volvo S60 design
On the styling front, the all-new S60 features fresh design cues that are more in line with the design language currently seen across the Volvo range. The S60 sports a two-part front grille, signature ‘Thor’s hammer’ headlights, C-shaped taillights and more pronounced creases. As a result of these changes, the S60 now looks like a scaled-down version of Volvo’s larger S90 sedan.
2021 Volvo S60 engine
Volvo will bring the third-generation S60 to India with a sole petrol engine option. The engine in question is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder unit that will produce 190hp and 300Nm of torque, while gearbox duties will be carried out by an 8-speed automatic unit. The new S60 will also feature three drive modes – Comfort, Eco and Dynamic.
2021 Volvo S60 features
Seeing as the Volvo S60 will come in the T4-Inscription trim level, the luxury sedan will come equipped with a 9.0-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four-zone climate control, wireless charging, rear parking camera, Harman Kardon Sound system, 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and a panoramic sunroof among other features.
It will also get safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, speed alert and driver alert systems to name a few.
2021 Volvo S60 chassis and safety
With the all-new S60, gone is the old Ford-derived chassis, it has been replaced by Volvo’s new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform. The third-gen Volvo S60 has already received 5-star safety rating from Euro-NCAP crash testing authority.
