Japanese carmaker Nissan, at the 2016 Auto Expo, has announced that it will finally launch its flagship performance offering, the GT-R, here in September this year.
Nissan had earlier stated lack of after-sales infrastructure for the delay in launch of the car. Now, the company is investing in upgrading select service facilities with trained technicians at all the dealerships through which the halo model will be retailed.

One of the fastest and most sophisticated four-wheel-drive cars around, the GT-R is powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 motor that puts out a stonking 542bhp and 63.53kgm of torque. To give the numbers perspective, it can lap Nürburgring‘s famous Nordschleife circuit in a company claimed 7 minutes 8 seconds.
While the company won’t target volumes with the GT-R, given its expected sticker price of around Rs 2 crore, the legendary car will give Nissan’s image a much-needed boost in India.
