Nissan Motor India has started accepting bookings for its soon-to-launched flagship model, the GT-R. The booking amount is set at Rs 25 lakh. India will get the updated GT-R which was unveiled earlier this year at the New York Auto Show.
The 2016 GT-R received a bump in power and multiple cosmetic changes inside and out. As part of the update, the GT-R gets revised bumpers with new side air vents, a revised grille, tweaked headlamps and a bonnet, which according to the company has been significantly reinforced to better handle high-speed driving. At the rear, the changes on the bumper include new side air vents on the lower edge, and a slightly higher blacked-out section. The car sits on newly designed alloy wheels.
Inside, the facelifted GT-R gets an all-new dashboard and a new multi-function steering wheel. The centre console gets a new 8.0-inch touchscreen display, while the number of switchgear has been reduced.
The GT-R’s 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 now delivers a healthy 570hp and 637Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a revised six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It is also fitted with a revised titanium exhaust system. Other mechanical changes include a stiffened body structure and a modified suspension setup, which the carmaker claims, has improved the car’s stability and increased its cornering speed.
Nissan will officially launch the GT-R in India sometime around the festive season.
