Nissan has teased an all-new concept which will be showcased at the upcoming Geneva Motor show 2015. This new concept is called the Nissan Sway and it is believed that its production version will replace the current generation Micra hatchback. Nissan has announced plans of introducing a radical replacement in the international market in the next 18 months. The Japanese carmaker has hinted at a change in its design policy for small hatchbacks in the near future.  According to the company, the Sway concept has been created using the same design philosophy and product planning that gave rise to the Juke and Qashqai.

Speaking to our sister magazine Autocar UK last January, ex-Nissan boss Andy Palmer said the Mk5 Micra would not return to the rounded look of the Mk3 car, something the teaser picture confirms. Palmer said the new car would be "designed for Europe," but would have a "concentration on achieving emerging market success."  So while it’s a possibility that the next-generation Micra’s styling could be based on the Sway concept, it remains to be seen how soon Nissan India brings the next Micra to India.
