Ahead of its public debut on November 30 at the Art Basel in Miami, Lamborghini has revealed what is likely its final pure combustion-engined model – the Huracan Sterrato – through a set of official images. The Huracan Sterrato, which is an off-road version of the V10-powered supercar, was first shown in concept in June 2019, and now, Lamborghini has finally dropped the camouflage to reveal the exterior design in full.

Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato: exterior design
Visually, what you notice first about the Sterrato is its far higher ground clearance than the standard Huracan. It has been fitted with a rather cool air intake on the roof for better breathability as well as a set of roof rails. The front bumper has also been reinforced with a stone guard, while an LED light bar is fitted to the bonnet. The Sterrato, however, loses the roof-mounted LED light bar from the concept that came before it.
The Sterrato gets beefy black body cladding all around, chunky side skirts and rugged fender flares, which Lamborghini had previously hinted could be 3D-printed. It also rides on the higher profile all-terrain tyres wrapped around new blacked-out wheels, while the rear bumper has a revised diffuser, which is likely to improve the departure angle.
The new khaki paint shade seen on the Sterrato – likely with a satin finish – is also new to the Huracan line-up and is contrasted by red accents on the claddings and on brake callipers. Lamborghini, however, is yet to offer us a look at the interior of the Huracan Sterrato.
Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato: engine
We’ll have to wait till the end of this month for the detailed specification of the production-spec model, but the Sterrato concept was powered by the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 as the Huracan Evo, producing 640hp and sending power to both axles via a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
It's expected that the production-spec version of the Sterrato would retain the Huracan's rear-wheel-steering set-up and also gain an adapted version of the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) driving mode system that's more effective at finding grip on low-traction surfaces.
Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato: last of its kind
This is expected to bring an end to almost seven decades of pure-combustioned Lamborghini sportscars, which have been joined by the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica and Lamborghini Urus Performante this year.
Come 2023, Lamborghini will debut the Aventador's successor, which will get a hybrid power boost. The electrified powertrain will continue to draw the bulk of its power from a highly strung, large-capacity V12 engine – but with a new hybrid element that, suggest Lamborghini officials, will make it significantly more powerful than today’s model. The replacement of the Huracan will, eventually, also be hybrid assisted.
