  2. Will come with multiple powertrain options

Renault Bigster spy shots: what’s new?

New shots shared by our friends at Motor.es in Spain of the Renault Bigster, shows that the dashboard looks identical to the Duster, featuring a multi-function steering wheel with silver accents and a large infotainment screen angled towards the driver’s seat. While the Bigster will share many design elements with the Duster, it might get extra features to justify its higher price tag as a 7-seater SUV. Its India entry is still some time away and the model seen in these photos will be launched in Europe

Bigster gets an identical dashboard layout as the new Duster.

Based on the same CMF-B platform as the Duster, the Bigster will be around 300mm longer than the new Duster, measuring about 4.6 metres, as evident from the spy shots. The wheelbase has been extended, and the rear doors are larger than those of the Duster, resulting in increased cabin space and additional cargo capacity.

Renault Bigster: powertrain, India launch timeline

Renault is yet to confirm the powertrain options for the Bigster, but it is expected to adopt them from its 5-seater counterpart, the Duster, which comes with three engine choices internationally: a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol hybrid, a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol with a 48V starter motor, and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG variant in specific markets. It will also get a front-wheel drive configuration, along with an optional all-wheel drive setup, just like the Duster.

The new Duster is slated for a comeback in the second half of 2025, and its 7-seater variant will follow later. Nissan will also offer derivatives of these two SUVs, expected to be launched after the new Duster debuts in India. The Bigster will compete with  the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700 and the MG Hector Plus.
