Though India Auto Inc. has been in a free-fall for almost a year now, many OEMs managed to register a slight uptick in demand in September 2019 compared to the month before, owing to heavy discounting and an improved consumer sentiment in the festive season. In order to build on the momentum and provide an impetus for prospective customers, Mahindra is extending sizeable discounts and benefits on its range of cars and UVs for the month of October.
Read on as we list the savings that can be availed on Mahindra vehicles through the festive season.
Mahindra Alturas G4
Save up to Rs 1.15 lakh
The Alturas G4 is a big, body-on-frame, seven-seater SUV and Mahindra’s response to the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Isuzu MU-X. The Indian automaker’s flagship product is offered with a 181hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine paired to a Mercedes-sourced 7-speed automatic transmission, with power being sent to the wheels either through a rear-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive setup. Mahindra’s most expensive vehicle is also being offered with the highest discount in its range of Rs 1.15 lakh.
Mahindra Marazzo
Save up to Rs 90,000
The Marazzo is Mahindra’s latest take on the MPV segment and is positioned between the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta in terms of size and price. Following an increasingly popular trend, it can be had in either a 7-seat or an 8-seat configuration with the option of individual captain seats or a bench seat in the second row. The Marazzo, which is available with benefits as high as Rs 90,000, is powered by a 123hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Mahindra TUV300
Save up to Rs 90,000
The TUV300 was given a refresh earlier this year that brought with it revised styling and more features. In order to push sales, dealerships are extending benefits of up to Rs 90,000 on selected variants of the compact SUV. The tough and rugged 7-seater comes with a single powertrain option in the form of a 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Mahindra XUV500
Save up to Rs 87,000
With increasing competition in the mid-size SUV segment from the likes of the Kia Seltos, MG Hector and Tata Harrier, the XUV500 is being offered with hefty discounts to the tune of Rs 87,000. Available in a wide variety of powertrains, the Mahindra holds the distinction of being the only vehicle in the segment with the flexibility of a third row of seats. The mainstay of the range is a 155hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine which can be had with manual, automatic as well as all-wheel drive options. Also on offer is a similar capacity petrol motor mated solely to an automatic transmission. The home-grown automaker has begun testing the second-generation XUV500 which was spied recently.
Mahindra KUV100 NXT
Save up to Rs 71,000
The KUV100 NXT is Mahindra’s attempt at designing a hatchback with SUV inspired styling. Though it rivals the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Ford Freestyle in our market, it does offer a novelty over the competition in the form of an optional 6-seat layout. Motive force is drawn from a set of 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Those planning to buy the KUV100 can save up to Rs 71,000 this month.
Mahindra Scorpio
Save up to Rs 64,000
One of Mahindra’s most iconic vehicles, the Scorpio is slated to get a significant update next year. As such, the existing model line-up of the SUV is attracting discounts of up to Rs 64,000. Available in 7-, 8-, and even a 9-seat configuration, the Scorpio is powered by a 2.5-litre diesel engine in the lower trim and a more powerful, 2.2-litre oil burner in the higher variants. Though a manual gearbox is standard, the rugged SUV can be specced up with a four-wheel drive system to enhance its off-road prowess.
Mahindra XUV300
Save up to Rs 55,000
Though the XUV300 is one of the more powerful and better equipped vehicles in the compact SUV segment which includes the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon, it is also one of the priciest. However, benefits of up to Rs 55,000 being offered in October could sweeten the deal for prospective buyers. The Mahindra comes with a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. While transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, the diesel also gets the convenience of an AMT auto gearbox.
Mahindra Bolero
Save up to Rs 50,000
Mahindra’s best-selling utility vehicle, the rugged and reliable Bolero is now being offered with significant discounts worth up to Rs 50,000. The 7-seater workhorse’s large capacity 2.5-litre diesel engine puts out a mere 63hp of power that is transferred to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. In line with the recent regulations, the Bolero range was updated with more safety equipment earlier this year.
Mahindra Thar
Save up to Rs 45,000
The Thar is arguably the most potent off-roader from the Indian automaker on sale right now, but it comes off as a bit utilitarian and sparsely equipped for the price it commands. However, as recent spy shots reveal, the next-gen Thar that is due in 2020 will be a major step forward. The Force Gurkha rival is powered by a 105hp, 2.2-litre diesel motor mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a four-wheel drive setup. Before it gets discontinued in the coming months, the current-gen Thar is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 45,000 for the time being.
