Skoda has showcased a special Kushaq Explorer Edition, alongside announcing its plans for an all-new compact SUV. The Kushaq Explorer Edition comes with unique outdoorsy cosmetic elements and more equipment on the interior, and is based on the top-spec Style trim. However, there’s no word about it being introduced in the market yet.

The Kushaq Explorer Edition comes finished in a rather vibrant shade of optional matte green with orange highlights on the grille, front bumper, rear spoiler and side body cladding. Meanwhile, the grille, wing mirrors and badges get a contrasting blacked-out finish.

Functional off-road upgrades include 215/65 section all-terrain tyres wrapped around new blacked-out 16-inch wheels, which have a taller profile than the 205/55 R17 tyres you get with the top-spec Style trim. Other upgrades include a roof rack with an auxiliary light bar and orange tow hooks at the front and rear.

On the inside, too, the matte green paint theme continues on the dashboard panel, the centre console area and the door pads, giving the interior a two-tone look. The seats, meanwhile, get black upholstery with contrast red piping.

It carries over all equipment from the Style trim, including the 10.25-touchscreen, digital dials, ventilated seats, sunroof and more. New additions on the Explorer Edition include a 360-degree camera with an improved rear camera, front parking sensors, a head-up display, rear sunshades and an air purifier.

Skoda Kushaq Explorer Edition powertrain options

The Kushaq Explorer Edition remains mechanically unchanged – it can be had with both 115hp, 1.0-litre and 150hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines, mated to their respective manual and automatic gearboxes. The ride height, however, could be different from the regular SUV owing to the off-road spec wheels.

This is the third special edition on the Kushaq after the Monte Carlo and Matte Edition models, and Skoda could be evaluating this for a market launch.
