Subaru has planned to bring the Viziv Performance sedan concept to the upcoming Tokyo motor show. The name is a shortened version of ‘vision for innovation’, the concept previews a sporty sedan that demonstrates Subaru’s new EyeSight driver assistance system that provides lane departure warnings, Pre-Collision Braking and adaptive cruise control.
The Viziv nameplate has been used by Subaru previously on a number of concepts including the Viziv Evolution SUV in 2013, the Viziv 2 SUV and Viziv GT race car in 2014, the Viziv Future SUV in 2015 and the Viziv-7 seven-seater SUV last year.
The teaser image is definitely a sport sedan in the mould of the Impreza sedan as the large wheel arches with vents suggests the need to cool high-performance brakes. The front of the concept features styling similar to that found on the Impreza.
Besides the Viziv Performance sedan concept, Subaru will display a limited edition WRX STI, named S208 and limited to 450 units, with a tweaked engine, aggressive bodywork and a carbon fibre roof. The Subaru BRZ STI Sport, XV Fun Adventure off-roader concept and Impreza Future Sport hatchback concept will also take their place at the upcoming Tokyo motor show.
