UPDATE: Production-spec Tata Harrier leaked ahead of official unveil
The wait for the Harrier will soon come to an end as Tata Motors will open bookings for its much awaited new SUV on October 15.
According to our sources, dealers will start accepting a fully refundable booking amount of Rs 30,000, as Tata prepares to unveil the Harrier in full in the coming days. The SUV will be officially launched in January 2019.
To give you a quick refresher, the Tata Harrier will be based on the Land Rover-derived Omega platform, it will be powered by a 140hp, 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine, and, in addition to a 6-speed manual gearbox, it will also have the option of a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox, which it was recently caught testing with.
Tata's new five-seat SUV – which has also been spotted testing at the Kari Motor Speedway – will be loaded with features, and is expected to retain most of the gorgeous H5X concept's design cues. The Harrier will compete with the Hyundai Creta and upcoming Nissan Kicks.
