Tata Motors has bolstered its Mobile Service Vans (MSV) program in a move to improve after-sales relations with its customers. The initiative has been dubbed the 'Tata Care Mobile Service Van (Car Assist and Repair Expert)' and is an on-the-go service will offer customers convenient service solutions across 42 locations in multiple cities.
Tata Care is designed to offer periodical services (scheduled free and paid services) to Tata Motors’ PV customers. The company will deploy multiple MSVs across the country to meet requirements of either customers on the go, or of customers unable to travel to their nearest service station. The periodical services can be availed by the Tata PV user at their doorstep via a team of specially trained mechanics.
"Tata Care is an initiative that is aimed at providing convenience and ease to customers for their basic servicing needs across India. It aims to provide the convenience to those customers, who are unable to get their vehicles serviced regularly due to paucity of time or their inability to visit the service centres," said Subhajit Roy, senior general manager and head of customer care, Tata Motors, commenting on the Tata Care initiative. "Keeping our customers at the centre of our business and encouraging them to keep their vehicles healthy, we have curated customised offerings that will work towards strengthening and improving our customer service initiatives.”
Tata Motors says that to avail this service, customers can visit the company's online booking section. Its service vehicles are fitted with trackers to provide real-time data to dealerships, also making them easy to find. The dealerships are then able to provide Tata customers with the location of the nearest service van, providing a seamless and convenient experience. Additionally, online bookings also offer a vehicle pick-up and drop-off facility from and to the customer's residence.
The carmaker has said that it is successfully operating this service across 38 cities in India right now. Tata Care’s mobile service vans also act as a revenue generation medium for channel partners, which helps decongesting workshops, resulting in a quicker turnaround time for vehicles with longer servicing needs.
