The newly launched Tata Tigor EV is the most affordable mass market electric car in India, and it will be even more affordable in Maharashtra, thanks to the incentives offered by the state’s EV policy. These incentives can shave off around Rs 2.30 lakh of the Tigor EV’s price.

  • All trims of Tigor EV will benefit from these incentives
  • Deliveries set to begin by mid-October
  • Xpress T commercial variant also gets subsidies

As we saw with the strong demand for the Nexon EV in Maharashtra after the implementation of this EV policy, the new Tigor EV has already received over 100 bookings from Mumbai alone. Deliveries for the electric sedan are set to begin by mid-October 2021.

2021 Tata Tigor EV: Rs 2.3 lakh cheaper in Maharashtra

As per the new EV policy in Maharashtra, all electric four-wheelers will receive a basic incentive of Rs 5,000 per kWh of the vehicle battery capacity, with maximum incentive capped at Rs 1.50 lakh. This means the Tigor EV’s 26kWh battery pack will receive Rs 1.30 lakh in incentives.

Additionally, to further urge buyers in making the switch to EVs, all cars registered before December 31, 2021, will also be eligible for early bird incentives which further discount the price by Rs 1 lakh. Hence, the Tigor EV customers will receive a total of Rs 2.3 lakh off on all variants of the electric sedan, till the end of the year. This will make it a considerably more enticing offering.

It is also worth noting that the Xpres-T – the version of the Tigor EV sold to fleet operators – will also receive significant discounts of up to Rs 2.07 lakh [subsidy of Rs 82,500 – 16.5kWh model and Rs 1.07 lakh – 21.5kWh model as well as Rs 1 lakh for early bird incentive).
