Skoda is set to introduce a top-spec version of its Kodiaq SUV – badged as the L&K Edition – at the Geneva motor show. Like the other special editions from Skoda that carry this logo, this version of the seven-seat SUV gets added equipment – both inside and out – and comes with new engine options.
On the outside, the Kodiaq L&K Edition (named after the founders, Laurin and Klement) gets a new chrome-finished grille, LED headlamps, new 19-inch alloy wheels and a tweaked rear bumper.
The interiors of the new top-spec trim come with leather upholstery, a piano-black trim on the console, a Canton sound system, aluminium pedals, a power-adjustable driver's seat with memory function, automatic wipers, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and ambient lighting.
Engine options have increased with the L&K Edition. The engine range now includes a 150hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol mill, an updated 190hp, 2.0-litre petrol engine (up from 180hp) and a 2.0-litre diesel engine in 150hp and 190hp states of tune. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is offered on all the engines. The 190hp petrol and diesel engines get 4x4, as standard, while the 150hp ones get it as an option. The 4x4 specced-trims also get dynamic chassis control, as an optional extra. This allows the SUV's suspension to adjust, based on terrain.
Skoda will display the new Kodiaq L&K Edition at the upcoming Geneva motor show, along with the Fabia facelift and the Vision X concept SUV.
There is no word on if this special edition will come to India. Skoda has introduced L&K Editions on the Octavia and Superb sedans, previously. This indicates there is potential for the Kodiaq to get this edition in our country. The Kodiaq currently sells in India for Rs 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India) in a single Style trim with the 150hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine.
