In a bid to reinvigorate its players in the sedan and hatchback segment, Toyota will be launching facelifted versions of the Etios sedan and Liva hatchback shortly.
Prominent changes on the facelifts include a brand new design for the grille and front airbags as standard on all the trims. Other additions, as per trim levels, include a seatbelt warning indicator, electrically-adjustable wing mirrors, reversing sensors, new fabric seats, and faux-wood finish for armrests.
All the other features of the current models are retained, and mechanically, Toyota is expected to continue with the 1.2- and 1.5-litre petrol engines and the 1.4-litre diesel motor.
The facelift models are a bid to cash in on the festive season, in a market primed with potent competitors. The Etios sedan takes on the likes of the Ford Fiesta, Nissan Sunny and Fiat Linea, while the Liva hatchback goes up against the Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo and the Hyundai Elite i20. Both models are expected to be priced at a premium of Rs 30,000.
