The Toyota Fortuner Legender is now available with a manual gearbox, but only in the 4x4 form. Toyota has priced the Fortuner Legender 4x4 MT at Rs 46.36 lakh. Other than manual transmission, this variant has the same features list and colour options as the automatic.

Legender the only one in the segment to get a 4x4 system and manual gearbox
The Legender’s 4x4 manual version, at Rs 46.36 lakh, costs Rs 1.73 lakh less than the automatic gearbox version. This price pits it against other large 7-seat diesel SUVs like the MG Gloster (Rs 39.57 lakh-44.03 lakh) and the Jeep Meridian (Rs 24.99 lakh-38.79 lakh), though neither gets a 4x4 system with a manual gearbox.

2.8-litre diesel engine paired with 6-speed manual gearbox
The Legender 4x4 MT is powered by the 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine found in the AT version. While it produces the same 204hp, the torque rating when paired with the 6-speed manual gearbox is 80Nm less, at 420Nm. There are no other mechanical changes, and power is sent to all four wheels via the 4x4 system.

No exterior, interior or feature differences between MT and AT
No other changes have been made to the Fortuner Legender 4x4 MT. It is offered in a single Platinum White Pearl with Black Roof dual-tone exterior finish and 18-inch alloy wheels, and the interior has the same black and maroon theme. The features list is also identical, with highlights being the ambient lighting, an 11-speaker JBL audio system with a sub-woofer, ventilated front seats, hands-free tailgate opening and seven airbags.
