Toyota has initiated a hike in prices of its cars and SUVs. Models that have seen a hike in prices from June 1,2020 include the Glanza, Yaris, Innova Crysta, Innova Touring Sport and Fortuner. Flagship models like the Camry Hybrid and Vellfire are set to get a mark-up from next month.

In an official statement, Toyota said, “Toyota Kirloskar Motors announces the realignment of prices across our models with a hike between 1 to 2 percent. This increase is necessitated to partially recover the substantial increase in cost of BS6 and the higher input costs on the back of weak exchange rate. During such testing times, it has been our endeavour to absorb cost increases through our internal efforts and only a minimal portion has been reflected onto the prices."

The Innova Crysta and Innova Touring Sport see prices hiked by between Rs 30,000 to Rs 61,000 for the diesel variants, with the petrol models pricier by Rs 30,000- 44,000 depending on the variant. Prices for the Innova Crysta now range from Rs 15.66 lakh to Rs 23.63 lakh while the Touring Sport is priced between Rs 19.53 lakh and Rs 24.67 lakh.

Toyota has hiked Fortuner prices by Rs 48,000 across all variants. The Fortuner range now starts at Rs 28.66 lakh for the base two-wheel drive petrol-manual and tops off at Rs 34.43 lakh for the four-wheel drive diesel-automatic.

Prices for the Yaris and Glanza too have been hiked with the models now priced between Rs 8.86-14.30 lakh and Rs 7.01-8.96 lakh respectively. Interestingly prices for some variants of the Yaris have seen a substantial hike in prices. While majority of the variants have seen prices hiked between Rs 10,000-12,000, the J and G trims are pricier by Rs 1.68 lakh and Rs 1.2 lakh, respectively.

The Camry Hybrid is currently priced at Rs 37.88 lakh, while the Vellfire luxury MPV is pegged at Rs 79.50 lakh. Both vehicles are set to get pricier from July 2020.
