Toyota Innova Hycross: new VX (O) trim introduced
As you can see from the table above, Toyota has introduced a new VX (O) trim that sits between the VX and ZX trims. Priced at Rs 26.73 lakh for the 7-seater and Rs 26.78 lakh for the 8-seater configuration, the new VX (O) trim bridges the massive price gap of Rs 4.27 lakh that existed between the VX and ZX trims.
Until now, the ZX trim packed in a lot of bells and whistles over and above the VX trim like a panoramic sunroof, powered tail gate, powered driver’s seat, larger 18-inch wheels, larger 10.1-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and side and curtain airbags. Hence, it justified the difference in price.
The new VX (O) trim brings some of these features down to a more accessible price point. It gets the panoramic sunroof, the larger touchscreen, LED fog lamps, wireless Apple CarPlay and side and curtain airbags. However, ADAS features are still limited only to the top-spec ZX (O) trim. The VX (O) is available solely with the strong-hybrid powertrain.
Toyota Innova Hycross: engine, variant line-up
The Innova Hycross is powered by either a 172hp, 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 184hp, 2.0-litre strong-hybrid powertrain. Both engines are only offered with an automatic gearbox – CVT gearbox for the naturally aspirated motor and e-Drive transmission for the strong-hybrid. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency figure of 23.24kpl for the hybrid, while the naturally aspirated version gets a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 16.13kpl.
